Review of Frankie Murphy Kiss List

There are some middle grade books that are just timeless to me. Those books are ones I wanted to read multiple times and never outgrow, even though I am currently 29 and for the most part read strictly YA fiction. One of those book that I never seem to outgrow is Frankie Murphy Kiss List.

Frankie Murphy Kiss List is about a boy named Travis who gets fed up with newcomer Frankie Murphy’s constant bragging and bets him that He cannot kiss all the girls in their 6th grade class before they graduate to middle school. Travis thinks that this is impossible due to the fact that his best friend Anna thinks Frank Murphy is scum.

Frankie proves that he is one fierce competitor though. Through sheer cunning Frankie manages to eliminate every girl except for of course Anna but, Travis is beginning to realize something just aren’t worth betting. The question on every reader’s mind is did Travis bit off more than he can chew.

I feel this books shows how relevant emotions are and why they shouldn’t be taken lightly.  I would recommend this to all kids because it teaches kids a good lesson that many adults have yet to learn. It also displays how male and female friendships change as people grow older.

I know I just started updating again but today was my grandmother’s 83 birthday so I won’t be updating and tommorow I have to take my dog to the vet.

Review of snow like ashes

I recently read snow like ashes by Sara Raasch. I found this book hard to get into mostly due to the disconnect between the protagonist and the other characters. Meria was a very self involved character focusing on being denied her desire to fight and love who she chooses. I don’t mind ambitious characters but Meira selfish put her ambitious above those suffering. The protagonist made this a hard series to read needless to say I do not recommend this series

How to Conquer Your New Year’s Resolution’s

It is the start of 2016 which means several people including me has set New Year’s Resolutions. The goal of this article is to show three different methods to keep them. The first tip is to make sure the goals you are setting are things you are capable of achieving. One thing to keep in mind when reaching your goal is to break it down into more manageable baby steps, for example my goal is cut back on Pepsi. I currently drink 10 cans a week. My goal is to get that down to nine. I am achieving this by pushing back the can I usually drink by a day later each week for example one week I drink the tenth can Tuesday next week I drink the tenth can Wednesday.

The second tip is to focus on the journey rather than the destination.  What I mean by this to focus on the progress you make towards your resolution and not just on the resolution itself. If your goal is to lose twenty pounds and so far you have lost five. Focus on the fact that you are five pounds closer to your goal and not the fact that you still have fifteen left.

The third and final tip is to try and keep your resolution positive.  What I mean by this is if your resolution is focused on a negative thing like becoming less of a social recluse. Focus instead on find activities that interest you outside your comfort zone, that way you are looking forward towards your new goals instead of dreading it.

In conclusion I wish all you New Year’s Resolution’s conquers the best of look and happy belated New Year.

Review of Fallen Kingdoms Book 4 Frozen Tides

Last week I started and finished the book Frozen Tides by Morgan Rhodes. I have followed the series since Fall Kingdoms and have loved everyone. I have never been a huge fan of high fantasy so my love for this series surprised me. The book starts where the third book left off. Cleo and Magnus both are on the run after Magnus helped Cleo escape her imprisonment. Lucia is struggling to cope with Alexis’s death.  The book focuses a lot more on the budding romance between Cleo and Magnus. Magnus finally choses a side on the upcoming war. Cleo makes a decision on whether or not Magnus can be trusted. Jonas loses another loved one. Lucia takes a stand on how far her quest for vengeance is willing to go. There are some surprises in this book that happen to the characters I didn’t see coming particularly concerning Lucia. My prediction for the next book is that Nic’s role is expanded due to his dislike of Magnus who begins a relationship with Cleo his best friend. I also think this because Asher’s brother just joined Jonas and Nic’s as part of their band of rebels.

Wacky Weather Upsets U.S. Winter

Being from Oklahoma, I have seen my fair share of damage caused by weather on TV or heard about it in the news. I have however very rarely seen wacky weather like the recent tornadoes, so late in the year. Most twisters that occurs in Oklahoma occur in early spring and continue throughout midsummer. The recent weather conditions though have proven to be an exception to that rule. The surprising weather seem to have caught many other U.S. residents off guard as well.

These freak storms along with other extreme weather conditions like flash floods took the lives of forty people living in the U.S.  The unexpected weather has impacted people in other ways too.  Over 2,900 flight were canceled as of 7:00 Tonight. That does not include the 4,000 flight delays that occurred as well.  The worst flight delays occurred in a Chicago airport.

This recent wacky weather even put a hold on two up and coming politicians named Chris Christie and Marco Rubio. The plans the two had made to further expand their campaign were put on hold when the wacky weather manifested itself. Here’s hoping the new year will wash the weather anew with a clean slate.
