L.A. might gain a new tradition after this weekend. An art street fair titled Street was scheduled to start October 1. Street allowed for the art viewers to connect with the artists on a far more personally level then simple buying a painting at a gallery. The fair featured everyone from local artists and artists who traveled from as far away as London to display their work. The fair had over a 100 artists. The fair started at Siren Studio on Orange and Santa Monica located within Hollywood. L.A. had not seen this many artist since an exhibit 2011 called Art in the Street. The fair began Thursday night and ended Saturday at 4pm. My favorite aspect of the fair was the fact that the one artist could use rubber stamps to personalize money. I thought that had a creative and whimsical charm. I hope that the turnout causes L.A. to make Street an annual event.
